Efficient Microbes has its head office in Durban, South Africa, with a sales office in Johannesburg and a wide network of distributors based throughout Southern Africa. Efficient Microbes is committed to the consumer and to the environment, and offers the most effective and environmentally friendly solutions to a large number of problems that are normally solved with harsh chemicals.

Efficient Microbes has created an organization based on a distribution agreement with Probiotic Holdings, LLC (PBH), located in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Probiotic Holdings consists of two organizations, Sustainable Community Development, LLC (SCD) and BioSyntropy Holdings, LLC (B2S).

Efficient Microbes parent company, SCD, was founded by Matthew Wood at the end of 1997 in Columbia, Missouri, to assist communities in creating sustainable agriculture and a clean environment, by applying beneficial and efficient microorganism ("EM") technology and natural farming methods. SCD is a premier global provider of probiotic EM technology.

SCD, as a leader in the EM field, is uniquely qualified to support natural microbial technologies. The CEO of SCD, Matthew Wood, completed a three-year "Masters of Science" with the founder of EM technology, Dr. Teruo Higa, at the University of Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan. Mathew also worked closely with the EM Research Organization on projects in several countries.

Under the distribution agreement, SCD supplies Efficient Microbes with all EM Mother Culture's in liquid form. This mother culture is then subjected to various "activation" and "extension" fermentation processes by our highly qualified staff in South Africa.Efficient Microbes, in partnership with SCD, provides safe and natural solutions to meet the numerous environmental challenges facing earth today.
